Sleep apnea is a common but serious condition that disrupts breathing during sleep. Sleep apnea can lead to poor quality sleep and increased risk of heart disease, dementia, and cancer. Our treatment focuses on ensuring a better night's rest and improved overall health. By addressing sleep apnea, we can help reduce its impact on your daily life and overall well-being.

A CPAP Alternative

A CPAP machine is the gold standard for sleep apnea treatment, but many patients struggle to be compliant with these devices. A mandibular advancement device, like the one pictured above, can be a great alternative when treating mild to moderate sleep apnea. Most patients find them to be more comfortable and more discreet than a CPAP and they are much easier to pack when traveling. For backcountry camping and hunting trips they can be a great substitute for your bulky CPAP. Please note that fabrication of a mandibular advancement device for treatment of sleep apnea requires a prescription from a sleep medicine doctor.

Snore Appliances

The mandibular advancement device pictured above is excellent at treating snoring. By advancing the position of the jaw, the tongue is moved away from the throat, the airway is opened, and snoring subsides. The amount of movement needed to relieve snoring symptoms varies from person to person. The appliances we recommend can be adjusted to provide you with maximum comfort and can be prescribed for treatment of snoring by our office without a letter from your MD.
